Thing 8

Dropbox is one of my favorite tools ever. I have a personal account and folders in it that are shared between all my family members so we can share documents seamlessly on the various home computers. I also have a work account so I can access my work documents from multiple locations at school and when I am home. This is a priceless tool.

I am also a huge fan of Google Calendar and was interested to see how this was used by a school.

For this task I checked out SlideShare.  I was quickly able to find multiple PowerPoint Presentations that I would love to borrow from and use. I am sure that I have some PowerPoint Presentations of my own that I will be able to share with this community.

I also explored PBWorks. I have used this in the past but never considered using it with students. The fact that it’s free and you can have up to 100 student accounts NOT requiring an email makes this a tool that would be useful in the future. Like many tools I don’t know what I will use this for yet but it’s on my radar for the future project when a teacher approaches me and says “Do you have any ideas for _____”

About Kim Nemeth

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am a High School Library Media Specialist in beautiful Saratoga Springs New York. I am an avid reader and am addicted to learning. This blog was originally started as part of the Cool Tools for Schools project in 2012. Since then I have continued to participate in Cool Tools for Schools and add my thoughts here. I found this blog to be an excellent place to refer to when I needed an idea or had a tick mark in my head and needed a reminder. I would love comments and feedback on my posts. Enjoy!
